Sponsorship
For a period of three years from 1999 to 2002, VoS had funding for editorial
assistance from the UCSB Humanities & Fine Arts Division and Alan Liu's personal
research grant. Additional Humanities & Fine Arts funding allowed editorial
assistants to do new development on the site as well as fix links in summer
2004. Thanks also to the UCSB Interdisciplinary
Humanities Center for funding in January - July 1996.
Other Credits
Thanks to colleagues and friends who helped in the creation of the design and
technical implementation of original VoS site, which was online from 1994 to
2002 before being replaced by the new database-driven design. Graphics for the
original VoS were created by Victoria Vesna,
formerly of the UCSB Art Studio, based on fabrics from the collections of Shirley
Lim and Lee Bliss of the UCSB English Dept. Special thanks to Victoria Vesna
for being my co-fabricator. (Vesna is now Chair of the UCLA
Design Dept. and a member of the UCLA
Center for the Digital Arts.) Technical support for the original VoS was
provided by present and past members of the College of Letters & Science
Information Technology staff (special thanks to Jeffrey J. Barteet, Paolo A.
Gardinali, and Mark Whittemore).
